3 Most Underrated Fashion Aesthetics in India

Ever wondered why are we so confused between aesthetics? Well it is because in this jungle full of so many aesthetics most of us fail to find the aesthetic that resonates with our personality the most. Right now India is going through the biggest fashion revolution, a lot of fashion aesthetics are emerging. But take it or leave it we tend to see only a few aesthetics again and again all over the internet and therefore making it really hard for us to reach out to our aesthetic. Now the only thing that can avoid over-exposure of these popular, overdone aesthetics is to accept and appreciate creators who are focus on fresh aesthetics so that doors open up for more aesthetics.

Stated below are my top 3 fashion aesthetics that irrespective of being so beautiful are not receiving enough recognition in India.

Kawaii pastel

This aesthetic originated in Japan, the word Kawaii means cute in Japanese and pastel means colors with soft hue. So basically, this fashion style is all about cute delicate vibes. This aesthetic implies all-soft color outfits and kawaii prints like,

  • rainbow,
  • hello kitty,
  • watermelon,
  • pusheen, etc.

Techwear

A bridge between fashion and outdoor (camping, trekking, hiking) industry.
Techwear is basically utility items put together in a way that it is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. Tehwear is one of those aesthetics that are closely related to street wear. People often take techwear as just-black outfits but it actually is very versatile and extensive in terms of; colors, silhouette, fabrics, etc.

My Techwear favourites are:

  • Utility pants
  • Combat boots
  • Harness belt
  • Cross-body utility bag

Y2k fashion

Blast from the past
Y2k is an acronym for Year 2000. This aesthetic is basically a comeback of fashion from late 90’s and early 20’s. Recently it has started gaining popularity in the west but is still lost in India. This aesthetic include fashion items like low rise pants, bell bottoms, umbrella sleeves, tiny tops, etc.

Some of my favourite outfit inspiration sources are

Movies:
Clueless
Mean girls
Mai prem ki deewani hun
Ishq vishk
Bratz

Hindi pop songs:
Mere naseeb mein
Tu tu hai wahi (remix)
Dekha hai teri aankho ko
Maine payal hai chhankai

If you felt something reading it you might want to try one of these aesthetics and if in case you want me to elaborate any particular aesthetic in a separate blog please let me know cause I’d really love to do so.
