Street style wear Chapter 3: The B3; Basic Boring Boujie

Street style wear

Chapter 3: The B3

Basic Boring Boujie

So many trends, so many brands, so many influencers, so many designers, and keeping up with such rapid fashion revolution in India can be a real task and therefore, I have come up with the B3 theory of street style that will change the way you look at clothes hanging on those beautiful racks of stores that in a way are influencing or perhaps conditioning us to buy things that are not even us.

The Basic:
Whites, Blacks, Neutrals

You can also call these, the closet essentials. Basics are the foundation of any street style look. Pieces that help a boujie outfit find a balance by neutralizing it are basically the basics in our wardrobe.

In short, Existence of which is barely noticeable but absence of which cannot be ignored.

Some quick examples of basics are:
  •  A white T shirt
  • A pair of fine denim
  • A black shirt
  • A nude turtle neck top
  • A pair of black leggings
  • A denim jacket

Shopping tip tip:
  • Should occupy  45-50% of your wardrobe space
  • You can shop from anywhere. Honestly, these are the easiest to shop for.

The Boring:
Fast trends

We all, at some point, have fallen into this trend trap eventually leaving us with “I’ve got nothing to wear”, comic but true. These pieces are the hardest to style under street style genre and are basically the least worn.

We all are different and though we may fall under the same fashion aesthetic our personalities are different which makes us unique and therefore we need clothes that imply our uniqueness and not clothes that imply mainstream trends.

Simply stating, one can be a particular trend but one can’t be all the trends.

Shopping tip tip:
  • Can occupy 10-15% of your wardrobe space
  •  Avoid buying these just because its ‘trendy’. Visualize yourself wearing it on and if you can, buy it.

The Boujie:
Vintage, Designer

This category requires the most investment, not just monetary but physical, emotional, mental and even spiritual.

So before going any deeper into this category we need one thing to be sure about is which fashion genre we fall into or which fashion genre we feel the most ME in. You don’t have to have a single fashion aesthetic, you can choose how many you want to considering how you feel most days.Start with a few fashion aesthetics.

Buy clothes that are TOO MUCH. Clothes that make you trip for them at the first sight.

Always remember,
Loud clothes are the easiest to style and the sickest to carry.

Shopping tip tip:
  •  Should occupy 30-40% of your wardrobe space.
  • You can shop from- thrift markets, inexpensive designer stores, vintage stores, online stores, local shops and even fast fashion brands.
  • Just follow your heart.

Whatever I write is a summary of what I research, what I see, what I decode, what I learn, what I believe in and what I consider can hurt my tummy if not shared.

I really hope you like it

Thank you J

Street style wear Chapter 2: Become an artist

Street style wear

Chapter 2: Become an artist

How to master the art of street style wear, the only genre that came from the streets and later made it to the runways? Well the question itself has the answer, we are the roots to it and if only we stick to being us and only us, we can slay this genre effortlessly. If only we understand that there is no cage that can restrain us from expressing who we really are, we are the master of this art already.

Below follows a few points that can broaden your fashion horizon

Layer-

Layering needs just one thing and that is the eye to it. So the process is, when you’re done layering an outfit all you need to do is stand in front of the mirror, if it gives pleasure to your eyes, it really is good but if it doesn’t you probably need to make changes. There’s this BIG myth about layering that it is only a winter thing. And I know it can get difficult in summers so…

Here are a few tips for easy layering
  • Use natural fabrics
  • Fishnets can be your savior
  • Get some action out of your see through clothes
  • Play with accessories; bulky belts, scarves, chains, etc

Limit-

I usually name looks that I create in my blog but I didn’t name any street style look because naming anything limits it and street wear literally has NO LIMIT. You can dress up in whichever-whatever-however way you want to and in case someone criticizes you and says that you’re trying too hard, darling you are trying just right.

The only limit to street style is YOU.

Mix and Match-

Play with different fashion aesthetics and make an outfit that represents who you are that day. Street wear is all about mixing and matching fashion aesthetics. To be on the safer side try to match two total opposite aesthetics, find the balance between boujee and comfy in your outfit, you can also go for color blocking technique.

Here are a few genre-mix that are easy to work with:
  • Bohemian and Sporty
  • Tomboy and Chic
  • Formal and Artsy
  • Techwear and picnic bitch
  • Punk and Formal
  • Bratz and Sporty

Indian streets-

Can Indian streets really accept a fashion aesthetic that is breaking the conventional mindset towards fashion? Well, I have witnessed many beautiful outfits on the streets recently but the ratio is still 1:100 which clearly implies that India is slow

But the good thing is that India is progressing and people are coming out of their comfort zone to showcase their art and we as a part of Indian streets are starting to appreciate their art.

That is all I have for you today.

Hope you like it
Also I cant emphasize enough on how grateful I am to have this, to have you…
Thank you
I Love Yaaaaaa

Street style wear Chapter 1: Sense the art

Street style wear

Chapter 1: Sense the art

You wanna look bomb just like your favorite celebrity slaying the streets but don’t know how? Well, worry no more cause this blog will uncover the secret to how they do it.

But before anything how did it even get such hype? Evolution of street style has provided people with a way to freely represent their multiple personalities and moods via fashion. With this style type individual can show case his/her fashion preference which can intersect the mainstream fashion trends and is still acceptable.

And If you really wanna game up your ootd in the streets aka street style wear, you need to keep one thing in mind before anything

That  is; To find the balance in your outfit.
Note and PLEASE noteNeutralizing is the secret.

In short your outfit shouldn’t speak for where it belongs to or where you’re heading to. Street style wear is basically an art of making fashion-khichdi with different fashion aesthetics, moods, genre and finding the balance between them.

Making it easy here-

balancing fashion ph (potential hype)

Now the question is how to find that balance?
For this you can go for:
  • Collecting pictures of your fav street looks and recreating in your way
  • Experimenting with your favorite aesthetics and creating your own outfit.
  • And just in case you end up with a weird confusing look and you don’t know what to do, you can always and by always I literally mean always  use this little tip
Add white sneakers to your bougie outfit and heels to your comfy outfit.

And now, you’re good to slay those streets and make people turn their head around 180. Hahha

Hope you like it
Love you

Side note: writing again, as in after so long made my eyes go soooo big.

Trending bags of 2020

Trending bags of 2020

Crochet bags

And by crochet bags I don’t mean those regular crochet bags, I mean this particular type of bag:

You might not see it coming but it is definitely on its way.
Though this bag is yet to slide in through the trending lane but it has been here since forever.  For me this bag somehow talks high fashion.
This basically is a cuter, fancier and sustainable replacement for those ugly shopping bags.

And this way you can shop like crazy and still look cute.
p.s. it can be your Sarojni Nagar savior.

 Short strap shoulder bags

I think we all can agree on how BIG these bags are right now, especially on Instagram. These bags can make your whole #ootd go from 0 to 100 within seconds.

What you might not know about these bags is that these bags have made a comeback from our mom’s era. For my justification; remember those ugly leather bags our moms would carry under her armpit and we would think how ugly those bags looked, well at least I thought that way, these are those bags. Honey you have a bag now save it for the future because it’s definitely coming back.

And I can’t emphasis enough on how big of a fan I am of the character Carrie Bradshaw from the series SEX IN THE CITY, and how many times I have noticed Carrie carrying them around. LOL that was a humor there. Anyway here are some looks:

Textured bags

Bags are so much more than just good quality leather so people are into different textures and believe it or not different people vibe with different type of materials.

For instance;
Best dressed aka Ashley is obsessed with corduroy fabric
Kristin johns is obsessed with sustainable fabrics
That boho girl is obsessed with anything junk and metal.
And their obsession or should I say loyalty is what makes them different.

Textured bags may include
  • Fur bags
  • Beaded bags
  • Velvet bags
  • Straw bags
  • Croc embossed bags
And the  list goes on.

Some of these textured bags might elevate you out of your comfort zone and make you doubt your choice but believe me nothing looks sexier than a person experimenting with things that are out of his/her comfort zone.

Efforts are appreciated.

Miniature bags

Though being the most impractical, these bags are really out there making people drop their jaws. This kind of bag obviously is of no bag- bag use, it can hardly fit anything but despite, has proved itself to be among the top trending bags.

These bags are nothing but a statement piece that can make you stand out the most.

These bags were a hit in 2019 and are still not going anywhere.

Luxury bags

We all are aware how Indians are insecure about their future and 'what might happen'.
so we save
save save
No wonder why there's an astrology corner in every mall.

But nowadays, we as Indians are shifting our capital management system and are adapting new ways mostly towards betterment of our living standards.

And therefore we are inclining towards luxury brands. We can also call it a fashion revolution in India. Even India’s worse economy break down can’t stop people from falling for luxury brands. In a way it is good since there’s a slight shift from fast fashion to sustainable fashion.

Also in a market where there is a vast availability of pre-owned luxury items, how can you not get tempted? Below are instagram accounts I came across with, selling pre-loved bags, as said by them.

  • Confidential Couture (@confidentialcoutureofficial)
  • Luxury Pop (@theluxurypop)

Calling it a revolution and not mentioning influencers… has it ever worked like that?
Below are some INDIAN influencers flaunting their luxury bags:

Potli Bags

First and foremost,
Before Sabyasachi made these bags the cool kid in the school of traditional bags, Rekha mam was always carrying these around with her.
Some of her looks:

I would suggest you to get yourself a potli bag, start with a basic gold or silver potli bag and witness what wonders it can do.

Potli bags were always there in the game but were always overlooked by the us. I’d say only celebrities were seen carrying them around, probably cause they were not as celebrated as other bags were.

Unique bags

What is a unique bag?
Any bag that is considered weird and is criticized before it is appreciated is a unique bag.

This year people are going to be more expressive via their fashion choices and are not going to box their fashion sense.
So this year will be more of fashion experiments and finding a particular niche.

Because honestly via fashion, people have found a way to make others see what they are from the inside.  Fashion in this sense is more about being true and transparent to oneself.
So many influencers have been seen flaunting bags, which in my sense are unique.

I hope now you know what bags to buy in 2020 to make it up to the top trends.

In the end I would just say that
I really appreciate you stopped and read

Love you.

Ways to style your Denim jacket.

One Jacket, Four Styles.

Hellow shinies!

Hope you all are sunbathing and enjoying winters.

So,

Why did I decide to do this post?

Well the reason is very simple but only shopaholics would understand,
it’s the everytime-will to shop for getting a new look. I mean why spend so much on so similar stuff when you can get an entire different look by styling the same piece you have.

And since winters are here I chose a denim jacket for it can be wore on summers and winters plus the style can be implied on a regular leather jacket too.

Additional to it:  It’s that one piece that we all have in our wardrobe.

Equation of why I chose a denim jacket:

[Denim jacket = (summer wear+ winter wear )] --------> leather jackets.

It’s like potato cooked to aloo-ka-paratha, aloo-chips, alo- tikki, aloo-samosa, etc.  You see? ‘1’ input and ‘n’ number of outputs. And this is what I’m talking about.

Here I go with the styles:

The tough look

(balloon cap)

The Barbie

(Floral dress)

The ready to go

(black tube top)

The ma-ki-beti

(white kurti)

It can also be wore over the following:

1 – Floral maxi dress, red lipstick, ankle boots and a hat to it.
2 – Pleated maxi skirt with matching crop top and ankle length boots.
3 –little white dress paired with lace heels.
4 – Striped dress or t shirt, a cute scarf and ankle boots.
5 – Boyfriend jeans, black heels,  grey tank top and a statement boho neckpiece.
6 – Cameo pants and super high heels.

Glitters:

  •  Ankle boots are the must have in your wardrobe for winters.
  • Whatever you wear, whichever style you pick just be confident, hold that smile and flaunt out load.
  • Be your own idol.

Thank you everyone.
I enjoyed writing hope you enjoyed reading.

Wonderful days!

Shine bright.

Sheer Long and Pink

When Traditional meets Modern

Hello Shines.
Hope you all are doing great

And here I go,

My attire is a mere example of how highly influential is western comfort to Indian fashion and trends .  This style shows that you can rely on traditional wear with a modern twist for the greatest comfort.
This sheer ankle length pink kurti is a bridge between a traditional Pakistani kurti and a maxi top, which is super trendy these days.

Pakistani kurties---------sheer long kurti--------maxi tops

Don’t just be a smart stylist, be a smart shopper too.

As in, people are so much flexible towards the dynamic fashion trends that they don’t even bother about the unused dress kept in their wardrobe which they bought just a month ago. And this is why one has to be economically smart too. And this style not only fulfills the need of either styles but it also adds a different twist which gives you the stand-out-of-crowd look.

The Sheer and plain factor of the kurti is sexy and the long length factor with embroidered ends to the sleeves is elegant. Now you see? You got both the ends tied together and, this is known as smart styling.

Description:

I’ve teamed my kurti with this everyday jeggings , which is again an example of smart shopping.
I’ve worn these beautiful black platforms, as black is the best color which matches with most of the attires for you’re in doubt with.
